Situated in a rural location, Gott Cats original construction was guided
by information from FAB, and is an indoor cattery. The cattery opened in 1982 with 22 units,
expanding twice in the following years to 44 double units, 3 family units plus an isolation unit.
Unit doors open from the central corridor into full-size individual heated double
size units, as illustrated. A viewing window is adjacent to the heated sleeping area and the
unit leads into an airy, bright individual outdoor run, containing
a scratching log and ping-pong balls, while larger units are available
for families. There is also a wooden bench in each run where residents can enjoy
sunshine and fresh air.
Clear glass sides in each run offer unrestricted views, and active spectators can
easily watch our Cockatiels fly and sing in the aviary; particularly
during Shetlands Simmer Dim.
The cattery is
roofed throughout with translucent fibre-glass allowing daylight to filter through.
Heated igloos are available for senior citizens and disabled clients;
it may be of interest that our eldest boarder was 23 year old Candelia.
If required we have Perla beds and Vet-bed, although we and
Puss prefer to have bedding from home.
Security is a priority; there are escape corridors in each building and the cattery remains locked at all times. It is
strongly advised that your cat is transported here in a secure container
and we have storage facilities available.
